Katrina Kaif raised her price

Mumbai: Bollywood's one of the most sought out actress Katrina Kaif has agreed to do item number in Ashtavinayak's Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Blue'.

According to sources the actress received an astonishing amount of 1.5 crores for just one dance. With this new price the prestigious new name for item number has become ‘hot and sensational dance number'.

She is not the only actress of her stature to have agreed to do an item number. The other ladies have also jumped into the wagon for performing ‘hot and sensational' dance numbers. Even Preity Zinta has agreed to do a dance number in Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer, ‘Mr And Mrs Khanna'.

It wouldn't come as a surprise if other top actresses would be seen performing doing hot numbers for an equally high fee.

Some bloggers have informed me that they are having difficulty migrating from Google Blogger to other blogging sites.

My blog was locked by Google Blogger.  When I tried to import my blog to NibbleBit, all I got were my blog comments.  Apparently, with my Google Blogger blog locked, NibbleBit could not access the posts in my locked blog.

Here is what I did:
  1. Exported (backup) my locked blog.  See my post of Aug 20  http://googlebloggerclosesgayblogs.blogspot.com/2009/08/dont-panic-one-of-my-blogging-buddies.html
  2. Created a New Blog on Blogger.  Any name will do.
  3. Imported my backup .xml file from my old Blogger blog to the new Blogger blog.
  4. Imported my new Blogger blog to NibbleBit using Nibblebit's import function.
  5. Deleted all posts from my new Blogger blog, but did not delete the blog.  It may come in hand again to export old blog!
I had a successful transfer to NibbleBit using this method.

Some bloggers are having difficulty creating the .xml backup/export file on Blogger.  They are getting re-directed to some gaming page.  If anyone has suggestions on how to help them, please post a comment and I will post it.

Here is one man's opinion about the Wisdom of Crowds:

"I admit that I don't really care to read the whole policy thing on google, which I probably should do, but just from the bit you posted on the blog makes it sound like a situation that is ripe for anyone with an agenda - whether it's a right-wing group or a commercial porn business trying to eliminate the competition - to organize a campaign to have bunch of people flag blogs repeatedly until they get killed."

I responded: "You bet it is.  That was one option in my very first post!
http://googlebloggerclosesgayblogs.blogspot.com/
If it works, it can work both ways!
Jeff"

John continued, and gave me permission to post this:

"Jeff... what can I say?  I got finished masturbating sooner than I had planned - these things happen -  and decided to go read the explanation at that google link you posted.  I have two points to make now...

1) Their reference to The Wisdom of Crowds is bogus because there is no countervailing action the members of OUR crowd can take to offset the ones who flag.  The reason wikipedia works, at least in theory, is that if someone posts incorrect information, someone else will come along and fix it.  The fact that a whole bunch of us DON'T flag isn't enough.  After all, at least in my case, I'm a fag who jerks off to porn, so that's already two strikes against my opinion in some people's eyes.  In this case it DOES NOT work both ways, so it DOES NOT work.

2) They state explicitly that flagging doesn't cause blog to be shut down, only to have it set as unlisted, but still available.  So apparently this is a side issue that doesn't really apply to the situation you are addressing.

Thanks for your earlier reply, and keep up the good work.  I really do appreciate it.

John"

Several viewers have expressed a reasoned approach on how to deal with Google:

One viewer states:

"Tired of google? The most effective way to let them know you're not happy is to uninstall the Google toolbar (e.g. use bing instead), stop supporting google products, and tell all your friends to move to another service. The point is that google, like many big companies, are motivated by customer response."

Another viewer states:

"Jeff,
While it is true that freedom of the press doesn't cover privately owned internet service domains. Business is still business, if you want to combat the "mysterious" people who are visiting gay themed blogs and "flagging" them (probably religious organizations) then I suggest you hit google where it counts!!  boycott anything to do with google. . .  You will find if you hit them in the pocketbook they will think twice before they enforce too stringent of a set of rules. In short use their rules to beat them at thier own game.
thank you."

As some of you know, I have moved my blog, Daddy's Bad Boys, to NibbleBit.

Here is why I decided to migrate to NibbleBit:

  1. I looked at several sites and NibbleBit seemed to offer a good platform for bloggers, not unlike Google Blogger.  Many features which I like at Blogger are available at NibbleBit.  Not all, but many.
  2. It was a walk in the park to import from Blogger to NibbleBit, not only all past and scheduled post, but comments as well.  Headers and widgets are handled separately.  Hint:  If you want a customized header, choose a skin which allows for a customized header!
  3. Most importantly, the NibbleBit guys have a reputation for actually communicating with the bloggers.  (Don't all clap at once...it gets better!)  The NibbleBit guys have a reputation of attempting to work things out with the bloggers, and give a blogger the time and opportunity to make changes to the blog BEFORE the blog is ever locked out or closed down.  You may all clap wildly now!!  How fucking refreshing.
  4. And I'm quoting the NibbleBit guys here: "Hello,  We like to provide a good solid platform for blog owners like yourself. We would be very greatful for the advertisment on the blog. We understand Google have somewhat changed their terms and conditions on the Adult Blog hosting, although its mainly Gay blogs that have been hit. All we ask is that content is legal - by legal we mean no child pornography, incest, beastiality, etc, that are mainly of comon sense. If you have any problems, don't hesitate to open a ticket.-The Team At NibbleBit"
Is that fuckin' refreshing, or what?  I received this response from the NibbleBit Team 30 minutes after I asked them a question!!

BTW, I have never worked for NibbleBit.  I do not currently work at NibbleBit.  I have no pending job offers, or offers of any kind, from NibbleBit.  I am simply a blogger on NibbleBit.

If your blog has been locked out on Google Blogger, if your blog is currently on Google Blogger and you are terrified that it will be locked out tomorrow when you log in, or if you are new to blogging and are thinking of opening up a blog, check out Nibblebit at:

acs hits the issue right in the center!!

"The whole issue really revolves around the fact that Blogger (Google) offers space for free, and in turn makes rules that we must follow. It doesn't matter if we think the rules suck (and they DO!) and it doesn't matter if we object (and we DO!), it's Google's servers and space and they can do whatever the hell they want.

Yeah, that wreaks havoc with trying to put together a decent blog that attracts readers with like interests. Tough luck for us, but that is the reality of the internet. Someone ultimately owns the space or bandwidth we use; and free speech is not a law that applies to privately owned bandwidth. So let's stop bitching so much and wasting our breath and time - and move forward to finding places like nibblebit and other adult-friendly hosting sites."

It is my opinion that the above is totally true, yet I take issue with the last sentence.  "Bitching", as acs calls it, can be extremely therapeutic.  Many of us have spent a significant amount of time on our blogs and were taken off guard when Google Blogger locked them out from viewers.  I venture to guess there were a whole range of emotions experienced by Google Blogger bloggers who had their blog locked out, and by those Google Blogger bloggers who are still open but are aware that their blogs may be locked out at any time.  I think it is good to get the anger out and than move on to more friendly adult friendly blog spots.  It is also good for new Google Blogger bloggers to know that their blog may be locked out.  Knowing this information early gives them the opportunity to decide where to blog.  Knowledge is power, if used correctly.

The following is from Blogger Help pertaining to the Flag Button:

Here's How It Works
When someone visiting a blog clicks the Flag button in the Blogger Navbar, it means that person believes the content of the blog may be potentially offensive or illegal. We track the number of times a blog has been flagged as objectionable and use this information to determine what action is needed. This feature allows the blogging community as a whole to identify content deemed objectionable. Have you read The Wisdom of Crowds? It's sort of like that.

The entire section is quite liberal. You might want to read it:

Wise advice from a seasoned blogger:

"It is getting to the point I cannot keep up with the new blog links when one closes. I cannot stress it enough to all of you to buy a cheap domain name from godaddy, go and visit hostgator and download wordpress. Play around with it and you will see it is easy to use and setup. You guys wont have to worry about losing your blogs and all of your hard work. You can even get hostgator hosting for 1 cent for the first month! Look into it guys because the other blog hosts will start doing the same thing blogger is doing. Im even willing to help you guys setup your blogs since im pissed they keep deleting gay blogs! Do not setup a blog with wordpress.com as they will delete you. Go and visit wordpress.org. "

As one of my fav bloggers, and you know who you are DB, recently posted:  Why do we choose to bang our heads against the wall?

One blogger is having difficulty exporting his blog from Blogger.  Can anyone give him some advice which may help?  I tried exporting (copying) my blocked blog this morning and had no difficulty.  I suggested he turn on his pop-up blocker.  Please leave a comment if you have experienced problem, or if you know how to get around this problem.  The blogger below is referring to my post of 8/20 which gives instructions on how to back up your blog.

"I'm having a problem with this method of exporting Blogs. I tried it twice with one of my Blogs, and the Export Blog command under settings took me to a page with a command for Download Blog. When I hit Download Blog, it didn't give me an xml file containing all my Blog content. Instead it gave me some kind of gaming system called Big Bang 4 in a Row that shuts down as soon as it is opened. What's going on here? Is anyone else experiencing this? What can be done about it? Is Blogger somehow preventing people from exporting their Blogs, and shilling for this weird gaming program that doesn't seem to work?"

I am trying an experiment.

Google Blogger has closed three of my blogs.  I have requested an appeal review by an administrator to see if I have violated the Terms of Service which I agreed to when I opened these blogs.  My first blog was appealed on August 3rd, 2009 and again on August 14th, 2009.  I left my blog exactly as it was so the reviewing administrator could make a fair and accurate determination.  As of today there has been no response.

After backing up my first blog, I have deleted all posts, customized header, customized footer, and any possibly objectionable widget.  I posted the following picture:
I continue to await a response to my appeal.

I repeated the same steps on my second blog which was first appealed on August 14th, 2009. On that blog I again await a response to my appeal.

I have left my third blog exactly as is and filed an appeal on August 20th, 2009.

Google Blogger has access to what was posted and to what is now posted.  As a control I have opened two new blogs:  Jeff's Puppy Palace and Daddy Jeff's Puppy Palace.  I have the above puppy pic as the only post in each of these two control blogs.

              http://jeffspuppypalace.blogspot.com/
              http://daddyjeffspuppypalace.blogspot.com/

If the word "Daddy" in the title is a Blogger no-no, my two Daddy's Bad Boys blogs will remain closed and Google Blogger should close Daddy Jeff's Puppy Palace.

If the content of a blog is the only reason for closing a blog, and if a Blogger administrator actually does review a blog for violation of TOS, than my two Daddy's Bad Boys blogs should be unlocked.

If there is no actual review process by Blogger administration, than my closed blogs will remain locked and my new blogs will remain open.

I am trying to determine if the Blogger appeal process actually works.

I will keep you informed.

Jeff

Copyright infringement is a violation of Google Blogger's Terms of Service.  This Dutch Dude has two very good insights into how copyright infringement can be sought out and reported.

"The reason why blogs (not only gay-oriented) get deleted is very simple: copyright violations. Some porn companies are very active in this respect: if you post a movie or a clip from Titan you will almost certainly get deleted. But why do not all blogs with gay porn clips get deleted? I think there are two reasons:

1. Only a few porn companies actively pursue copyright violations of their material. Hiring someone or a firm to browse the web for their material costs money. Most gay porn companies don't have the money to pay for this.

2. There are so many blogs and sites that is almost impossible to check them all out. But through the system of blog linkage and referral the search for 'copyright violations' becomes much easier. If an active porn company detects 'their' stuff on blogs or sites it complains with Blogger (=Google) who takes the all too well known action against the blog/blogger concerned.

Kind Regards,

Dutch Dude"
Google Blogger closings is well known by the following person.  This was him comment:

"There are ALOT of blogs that have been closed due to "terms of service". When you read their "terms of service" it clearly states that they have the right to change the terms of service without any notice. So what was alright yesterday may not be alright today. So they can find one that annoys them (they may hate Ross Hurston) so they close you down because you posted pics of him. They should not be able to change what they find "unacceptable" at the drop of a hat.

There are several I check each day and they have set up accounts on other servers "just incase" Blogspot gets another hair up their ass and cancels them."
