Wise advice from a seasoned blogger:

"It is getting to the point I cannot keep up with the new blog links when one closes. I cannot stress it enough to all of you to buy a cheap domain name from godaddy, go and visit hostgator and download wordpress. Play around with it and you will see it is easy to use and setup. You guys wont have to worry about losing your blogs and all of your hard work. You can even get hostgator hosting for 1 cent for the first month! Look into it guys because the other blog hosts will start doing the same thing blogger is doing. Im even willing to help you guys setup your blogs since im pissed they keep deleting gay blogs! Do not setup a blog with wordpress.com as they will delete you. Go and visit wordpress.org. "

One blogger is having difficulty exporting his blog from Blogger.  Can anyone give him some advice which may help?  I tried exporting (copying) my blocked blog this morning and had no difficulty.  I suggested he turn on his pop-up blocker.  Please leave a comment if you have experienced problem, or if you know how to get around this problem.  The blogger below is referring to my post of 8/20 which gives instructions on how to back up your blog.

"I'm having a problem with this method of exporting Blogs. I tried it twice with one of my Blogs, and the Export Blog command under settings took me to a page with a command for Download Blog. When I hit Download Blog, it didn't give me an xml file containing all my Blog content. Instead it gave me some kind of gaming system called Big Bang 4 in a Row that shuts down as soon as it is opened. What's going on here? Is anyone else experiencing this? What can be done about it? Is Blogger somehow preventing people from exporting their Blogs, and shilling for this weird gaming program that doesn't seem to work?"

I am trying an experiment.  

Google Blogger has closed three of my blogs.  I have requested an appeal review by an administrator to see if I have violated the Terms of Service which I agreed to when I opened these blogs.  My first blog was appealed on August 3rd, 2009 and again on August 14th, 2009.  I left my blog exactly as it was so the reviewing administrator could make a fair and accurate determination.  As of today there has been no response.

After backing up my first blog, I have deleted all posts, customized header, customized footer, and any possibly objectionable widget.  I posted the following picture:

I continue to await a response to my appeal.

I repeated the same steps on my second blog which was first appealed on August 14th, 2009. On that blog I again await a response to my appeal.

I have left my third blog exactly as is and filed an appeal on August 20th, 2009.

Google Blogger has access to what was posted and to what is now posted.  As a control I have opened two new blogs:  Jeff's Puppy Palace and Daddy Jeff's Puppy Palace.  I have the above puppy pic as the only post in each of these two control blogs.

If the word "Daddy" in the title is a Blogger no-no, my two Daddy's Bad Boys blogs will remain closed and Google Blogger should close Daddy Jeff's Puppy Palace.

If the content of a blog is the only reason for closing a blog, and if a Blogger administrator actually does review a blog for violation of TOS, than my two Daddy's Bad Boys blogs should be unlocked.

If there is no actual review process by Blogger administration, than my closed blogs will remain locked and my new blogs will remain open.

I am trying to determine if the Blogger appeal process actually works.

I will keep you informed.

Copyright infringement is a violation of Google Blogger's Terms of Service.  This Dutch Dude has two very good insights into how copyright infringement can be sought out and reported.

"The reason why blogs (not only gay-oriented) get deleted is very simple: copyright violations. Some porn companies are very active in this respect: if you post a movie or a clip from Titan you will almost certainly get deleted. But why do not all blogs with gay porn clips get deleted? I think there are two reasons:

1. Only a few porn companies actively pursue copyright violations of their material. Hiring someone or a firm to browse the web for their material costs money. Most gay porn companies don't have the money to pay for this.

2. There are so many blogs and sites that is almost impossible to check them all out. But through the system of blog linkage and referral the search for 'copyright violations' becomes much easier. If an active porn company detects 'their' stuff on blogs or sites it complains with Blogger (=Google) who takes the all too well known action against the blog/blogger concerned.

Google Blogger closings is well known by the following person.  This was him comment:

"There are ALOT of blogs that have been closed due to "terms of service". When you read their "terms of service" it clearly states that they have the right to change the terms of service without any notice. So what was alright yesterday may not be alright today. So they can find one that annoys them (they may hate Ross Hurston) so they close you down because you posted pics of him. They should not be able to change what they find "unacceptable" at the drop of a hat.

There are several I check each day and they have set up accounts on other servers "just incase" Blogspot gets another hair up their ass and cancels them."
