It, of course, has everything to do with Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan’s ishq-vishq. Katrina Kaif is the Barbie girl

Glam doll Katrina Kaif will be the Indian face of the new Celebrity Barbie. Aishwarya Rai had reportedly been approached first, but declined due to lack of time.

“Mattel [the toymaker] proposed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan endorse the Barbie doll, but as her prior commitments stretched her for time, she had to decline,” says a statement issued by Aishwarya’s spokesperson.

Kat is quite happy to lap it up; she endorses Barbie in the iconic doll’s 50th year. “It is so much fun to endorse a Barbie doll,” Katrina says to HT City. “Almost every girl has grown up playing with the doll and so have I, so it feels great. My
sisters would be really happy to know that I am endorsing this brand.”

The diva is delighted to have walked the runway as the showstopper at a special show dedicated to Barbie at the Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai. The show, Barbie — All Doll’d Up, was held yesterday afternoon, and had several Indian designers showcasing Barbie-inspired outfits.

This was a competition segment, and Katrina wore the dress created by the winning designer.

Katrina Kaif planning to serve food!

Katrina Kaif is into health foods and diets these days and wants to put all that thought into a restaurant which will serve her favourite food. Talking about her dream project, Kat says, "I want to open a restaurant in partnership. I am on the lookout for a business partner. I don't have the time to handle the day-to-day nitty-gritty of the business though I do intend being there as much as possible.

My partner would have to be someone who has experience in the restaurant business and will be able to give his time as I am a novice in this field. Hopefully, I should clinch a deal soon." The actress is clear about what she wants. "I want the restaurant to be styled and designed something along the lines of a London or New York high-end coffee shop somewhere classy and cool.

It will be along the lines of a coffee house/bar/lounge/ restaurant dealing with specialised international cuisine. The restaurant will be in Bandra. I want my place to serve really good coffees. It's sometimes difficult to get a really good cappuccino which I love here."

Katrina wants her place to have a comfortable feel where people can meet and hang out during the day and come to for a great dinner at night. "There will be several comfortable couches and chairs to sit on and read books and stuff and the perfect place to go, get work done and then relax over several coffees or drinks."
